Arlean Wells, PhD

Arlean Wells, PhD, is the Program Coordinator for Competent Kids, Caring Community; a Social Emotional Learning Program at the Ackerman Institute for the Family.   A graduate of New York University Steinhardt School of Education, Arlean spent time overseas as a Curriculum Specialist for the Ministry of Education, in Kingston Jamaica and two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in South Africa, where she assisted Region Directors with policy development and implementation and lead professional development workshops on classroom management, curriculum development and on the ideology of systematic change post-apartheid.  Arlean Wells is a former New York City Public School Teacher and a former Adjunct Professor for Brooklyn College.
