What Every 21st Century Parent Needs to Know

What Every 21st Century Parent Needs to Know:
The physical, emotional, sexual and spiritual health of our children

Debra W Haffner

Eight in ten parents think that it is much harder to be a parent today than when they were children. But is it? The reality is that although parenting today is challenging, there is also a lot of good news for modern parents. With compassion and clarity, and backed by extensive research, renowned author and parenting expert Debra Haffner examines today’s pressing issues and offers advice about how to develop your own “affirming” parenting style. At this lecture, parents of children of all ages can learn more about how good parenting can make a real difference even in the most challenging circumstances.

Debra W Haffner has been a parenting educator for more than twenty-five years. She is the author of award-winning books, including From Diapers to Dating and Beyond the Big Talk, and she appears frequently on national TV. She holds a Masters in Public Health from Yale University School of Medicine and a Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary. Currently the director of the Religious Institute, she is also an ordained minister with the Unitarian Church in Westport, Connecticut.
