Ackerman Institute for the Family is a not-for-profit agency licensed and certified by the New York State Office of Mental Health.

Students who successfully complete a course of study at the Institute will receive a Letter of Completion, which may be used to obtain continuing education credit.

Ackerman Institute for the Family is approved by the American Psychological Association to offer continuing education for psychologists. Ackerman Institute for the Family maintains responsibility for the program.

The Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York has granted a provisional charter to the Ackerman Institute for the Family.
