Silvia Giliotti, LCSW, is a teaching faculty member at the Ackerman Institute for the Family. She holds a master’s degree in social work from Fordham University, a master’s degree in psychology from the New School for Social Research and a doctoral degree in psychology from Padova (Padua) University, Padua, Italy.

Currently, she is the OMH Suicide Prevention Coordinator for New York City and Long Island and she maintains a private practice in Park Slope, Brooklyn.

For many years she worked at South Beach Psychiatric Center with chronic psychiatric population.
