Live Clinical Supervision
Description
Using the knowledge of family systems gained from the Foundations in Family Therapy course, trainees have the opportunity to participate actively on a treatment team and, at times, work with families in front of a one-way mirror with live supervision. In addition, group members explore their own family’s culture of origin and its effect on practice. Review of videotapes is included to increase clinical skills and to address relevant personal issues.
Prerequisite: Foundations in Family Therapy course, and a master’s degree or doctorate in social work, mental health counseling, psychology, or psychiatry.
Date & Time: 30 sessions
Saturdays, beginning September 24, 2011, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Mondays, beginning September 26, 2011, 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. or 5 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Wednesdays, beginning October 5, 2011, 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. or 5 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Tuition: $2,895. Deposit of $1,400 payable upon acceptance into the program. Balance is due by August 1.
Continuing Education Credits: 120
The Ackerman Institute is approved by NASW, CT, and therefore NASW, NJ and NASW, NY.
Students may apply to take both Foundations and Live Clinical simultaneously
