Tuition Payment Policy
Participants are required to pay tuition in full to the Ackerman Institute prior to beginning their course.
The Ackerman Institute does not provide refunds for Summer Clinical Practicum, Live Clinical, and the Clinical Externship programs. If a trainee withdraws from a class, except the above classes Full refunds for tuition deposits and balances are made only if a class is cancelled.
Workshops and Short Courses
All refund requests should be made in writing or by email at least two weeks prior to the course. Should a participant need to cancel, there are two options for a refund:
- Option 1: Tuition will be refunded, minus a 20% administrative fee.
- Option 2: A credit for a future workshop will be issued and expires within one year of the date issued. If such credit is not used within that year, tuition is forfeited.
A limited number of partial scholarships are available through Ackerman. These scholarships are awarded based on a student’s demonstrated financial need and commitment to working in a community agency.
CE Contact Hours
Students who successfully complete a course of study at Ackerman will receive a Letter of Completion, which may be used to obtain CE Contact Hours for LCSWs and LMFTs.
Social Workers: Application for CE Contact Hours has been made to the National Association for Social Workers (CT). CE Contact Hours pending.
