Silvia Giliotti, LCSW

Silvia Giliotti, LCSW, is a teaching faculty member at the Ackerman Institute for the Family. She received her master's degree in social work from Fordham University. In addition, she holds a master’s degree in psychology from the New School for Social Research and a doctoral degree in psychology from Padova University, Italy. Currently, Ms. Giliotti is the NYS Office of Mental Health Suicide Prevention Coordinator for New York City and Long Island. She is a certified ASIST, safeTALK, and QPR trainer, and routinely presents on the topic of suicide prevention, intervention, and post-vention. Ms. Giliotti was previously the program director of South Beach Psychiatric Center/Park Manor Outpatient Clinic. She also worked as a clinician at Coney Island Hospital, the Italian Board of Guardians and Il Laboratorio Educativo. In her private practice in Park Slope, Brooklyn, Ms. Giliotti sees individuals, couples, and families. In addition, she offers support groups for suicide survivors, and Family Matters and Restorative Yoga, a support group for those who love someone with a serious mental illness.
