Margot Weinshel, LCSW
Margot Weinshel, LCSW, RN, is on the adjunct faculty of the Ackerman Institute for the Family and a clinical instructor in the Department of Psychiatry, New York University Medical Center, and in private practice in New York City. She is Membership Chair for the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, Mental Health Professional Group.
Ms. Weinshel is the co-founder of the Ackerman Institute's Infertility Project and a member of the Institute's Couples and EMDR Project. She is the co-author of Couple Therapy for Infertility (Guilford, 1999). In this book, she and her co-authors present a unique therapeutic approach developed to help couples confront and survive this painful life challenge. Ms. Weinshel co-authored Surviving an Eating Disorder: Strategies for Families and Friends (HarperCollins, 1988, 1997). She co-authored chapters in Couples on the Fault Line (edited by Peggy Papp, Guilford. 2000) and Handbook of Primary Care Psychology (edited by Leonard J. Haas, Oxford University Press, 2004). Ms. Weinshel has published numerous articles and presents nationally and internationally.
Ms. Weinshel maintains a private practice in Manhattan.
