Sippio M Small, LCSW, is a faculty member of the
Ackerman Institute for the Family and Co-Director of Ackerman's Diversity and
Social Work Training Program.
Since 1981, Mr. Small has worked as a therapist with individuals, couples,
families, groups and target populations in need at facilities throughout New
York City. He is a consultant and clinician in New York City, working with social
workers to address issues affecting students and their families.
He is an instructor in family therapy for the Post-Master's degree program
at Hunter College School of Social Work. Mr. Small has presented on numerous
social work and family issues including: alternative approaches to substance
abuse treatment for practitioners; the impact of HIV and AIDS on care providers;
family therapy and African-Americans; and the impact of social service systems
on families and family therapy.
