Treating Adolescents and Their Families

Adolescence is a challenging time for most families, and the clinical issues raised by adolescent-parental conflict can stymie even the most experienced therapists. Dr. Steven Goldstein, a pioneering clinician in family therapy, approaches the treatment of adolescents and families and shares his extensive experience in this area with clinicians who want to improve their skills in working with adolescents in the context of their families.

Students can receive consultations on their own cases, practice skills through role-playing activities and observe videotapes that illustrate how Dr. Goldstein works with families around issues of adolescence.

Faculty: Steven Goldstein, PhD, visiting faculty, Ackerman Institute; teaching faculty, St. Luke’s-Roosevelt; former director and creator of the Adolescent Day Program, Queens Hospital Center; former director of training at Morrisania NFCC; private practice, New York City.
