Chief Development and External Affairs Officer
Rachel Coker is the Chief Development and External Affairs Officer at the Ackerman Institute for the Family. With nearly 20 years in the nonprofit world, Rachel brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership experience to this role.
At Ackerman, Rachel partners with the board, staff, and faculty to raise funds for Ackerman’s operations, training, and treatment programs, and helps raise awareness about Ackerman’s work to support families through strategic communications and marketing efforts.
Prior to joining Ackerman, Rachel was Deputy Director, External Affairs at Storm King Art Center, where she oversaw development, special events, and communications and played a key role in the organization’s tremendous growth over the past decade. Prior to Storm King, Rachel worked at several nonprofit organizations in fundraising, special events, communications, and project management.
Rachel holds a MA from Columbia University’s Teachers College and a BA from Wellesley College.
