Clinical Supervisor
Tara Starin-Basi, LCSW-R (she/her), is a Clinical Supervisor at Ackerman, and is an alumni of the Ackerman Institute’s Clinical Externship Program in Family Therapy.
She is Co-Director of the Child and Adolescent Trauma Program at the National Institute for the Psychotherapies, serves as a clinical supervisor at Safe Horizon Counseling Center and is adjunct faculty at the NYU Silver School of Social Work. Tara also maintains a private practice in New York City.
Tara is Asian, born in England to a South Asian, Indian father; and a third generation, White Italian-American mother. She moved to New York City in 2009. Alongside being a therapist, Tara is a mother and partner, and has both personal and professional experience in the nuances and sensitivities occurring in multiracial, multicultural and interfaith families.
