Tara Starin-Basi

Clinical Supervisor

Tara Starin-Basi, LCSW is a graduate of the Ackerman Institute’s Clinical Externship Program and is a Clinical Supervisor at Ackerman. 

She is Co-Director of the Trauma Informed Child and Adolescent Program at the National Institute for the Psychotherapies, serves as a clinical supervisor at Safe Horizon Counseling Center and is adjunct faculty at the NYU Silver School of Social Work. 

Tara is Asian, born in England to an Indian father and a White-Italian mother and moved to New York City in 2009. Alongside being a therapist, Tara is also a mother and partner who has both personal & professional experience in the nuances & sensitivities raised in multiracial, multicultural and interfaith families.
