Development Assistant

Twana D’Andrade is the Development Assistant at the Ackerman Institute for the Family. Previously, she worked at Catholic Charities as an educator, and prior to that, Ms. D’Andrade worked at Weill Cornell Medicine for over three years as part of the External Affairs Special Events Team as an Events Associate.
Ms. D’Andrade received her Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Family Health from Brooklyn College, where she also worked as an Administrator and Student Diversity Services and Programs Coordinator for Student Affairs. She has received specialty certifications and trainings in harassment, bullying, cyberbullying, and discrimination in schools; lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender safe zone allies; and identification and reporting child abuse and mistreatment.
A native and current resident of Brooklyn, Ms. D’Andrade likes to spend her free time with family and friends, try out new recipes, and travel. In her spare time, she also volunteers, with her most rewarding volunteer experience being as a Baby Cuddler at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
