Online lectures designed to contribute to conversations on advancements and opportunities in family therapy training.

The Ackerman Distinguished Family Therapy Lecture Series is designed to contribute to conversations on advances and opportunities in family therapy training. Lectures are free, open to the public, and aim to raise awareness of critical issues affecting families and society today.

The Ackerman Institute for the Family has a long and celebrated history in the field of family therapy. The institute was founded in 1960 by Dr. Nathan Ackerman a pioneer in the field of family therapy. Dr. Ackerman later co-founded the first-ever family therapy journal, Family Process, which remains the field’s leading academic publication. Following in the tradition of Dr. Ackerman’s love of family therapy, the Ackerman Training Department is pleased to offer this free, online educational series.

Online events are held in Eastern Standard Time (ET). Continuing education contact hours are not offered for the Distinguished Lecture Series.
