Workshop Refund Policy:

Workshop Refund Policy Update Due to Coronavirus (COVID-19):

March 9, 2020: As COVID-19 continues to become a worldwide concern, we are offering flexibility in our refund policy by waiving cancellation fees for on-site workshops until further notice. To cancel your workshop attendance and receive a refund in full, contact Vrinda Sheth, Training Program Coordinator: vsheth@ackerman.org.

We do not transfer payments of any kind. Please review our full refund policy here.

Where can I find technical support for an online workshop?

For technical support for an online workshop, please refer to the Zoom customer support center.

Ackerman staff are not able to respond to your technical inquiry.

All workshops are held in the Ackerman Institute’s 3rd floor conference room, unless otherwise noted.

The nearest subways are the N/R trains at 23rd Street and Broadway; the F/M trains at 23rd Street and 6th Avenue; and the 6 train at 23rd Street and Lexington Avenue.

How do I register for a workshop?

Workshop registration is done online. Visit our workshop listings page and click on the workshop of your choice. At the bottom of the workshop page, click the “Register Now” button and follow the instructions to register through our secure checkout. Have your credit card and license number ready. We do not accept workshop registrations over the phone.

Who is eligible to attend?

Ackerman Institute trainings are intended for qualified mental health professionals only, unless otherwise noted. Eligible attendees must be trained in mental health, and currently employed in the field of social work, marriage and family therapy, counseling, psychology, or another mental health profession. If you have questions about your eligibility to attend an Ackerman training, please contact: Catherine Lewis: clewis@ackerman.org.

What should I expect when I arrive?

  • Workshop check-in opens 30 minutes before the start of the training. Please arrive on time.
  • Participants must register online before arrival. We do not accept payments at the door.
  • Please supply your own battery power for your phone, tablet or mobile devices.
  • The Ackerman Institute is an active clinic and office space; please be mindful of noise.

I need to leave early or arrive late. Will I receive full CE Contact Hours?

Participants must attend the full duration of a workshop to be eligible for full CE Contact Hours. As proof of attendance, trainees must complete and sign an evaluation form in person at the conclusion of the training. Per the NY State of Education, we do not provide credit for partial attendance.

Am I eligible to earn CE Contact Hours?

Mental health practitioners who hold LCSW, LMSW, or LMFT licensure in New York State are eligible to earn CE Contact Hours (CEUs). Read our full licensure statement.

Trainees must attend the full duration of a training to be eligible for CE Contact Hours. As proof of attendance, trainees must complete and sign an evaluation form in person at the conclusion of the training.

When will I receive my certificate of completion?

Eligible participants will receive CE Contact Hours via email within 5-10 business days. Certificates of completion are distributed via email only. To ensure prompt delivery, please add training@ackerman.org to your email contact list.

Do you provide printed reference materials?

Workshop reference materials will be distributed via email after the completion of the training. Printed materials are not provided. To receive your reference materials, look for an email from training@ackerman.org two (2) business days following the training. Please add training@ackerman.org to your email contacts list and check your spam folders.

Can you send me a receipt?

Your payment receipt is the confirmation email you receive at the time of registration. Please check your email inbox, filtered messages, and spam folders for this message. To ensure prompt delivery, add training@ackerman.org to your email contacts list.

Are tuition discounts available?

The Ackerman Institute does not offer student or professional discounts.

Tuition discounts are only available to trainees currently enrolled in the Core Curriculum and to members of the Ackerman Alumni Association. Alumni are graduates of the Ackerman Clinical Externship and must have dues in good standing. Renew your dues here.
