On Thursday January 22, the Ackerman Institute for the Family hosted a book celebration for Follow the Money: A Guide to Talking About the Last Taboo Topic by Judy Stern Peck and Betsy Witten, welcoming attendees from the Ackerman community and beyond. Published by Bloomsbury, the book grows directly out of Peck and Witten’s long-standing workshop at Ackerman, which invites mental health practitioners to engage thoughtfully with issues of money and socio-economic class—topics that shape clinical work yet are often left unspoken.
Drawing on their decades of teaching at Ackerman and their clinical work with clients who come specifically to address money-related concerns, Follow the Money opens an important and timely conversation that reflects Ackerman’s ongoing commitment to clinical depth, social context, and innovative training.
