Expired Online Parent Discussion Group – For Parents of Children with Special Needs

The Ackerman Institute’s Children with Special Needs Project is offering an online 6-session parent group facilitated by family therapists who work with parents with children with developmental disabilities; e.g., autism, ADHD, LD, I/DD. Discussions will address parent concerns such as dealing with uncertainty, parenting beliefs & practices, family routines and relationships, and ways to increase self-care and support.

We are living through an unprecedented time of health, financial, political, racial, and climate unrest. Add to this, worries about your child’s development and the effects of remote learning and telehealth. Join us and meet with other parents to share common struggles, solutions and strategies to promote family resilience and well-being.

Presenter:

Dr. Judy Grossman, is the Director of Ackerman’s Special Needs Project, Associate Director of the Center for the Developing Child and Family and adjunct faculty at New York University. She has lectured nationally and internationally about parenting, family resilience, mental health consultation and early intervention/special education policy and programs.  She has a private practice in Manhattan.
