This is an extraordinary workshop. Ms. True is extremely well versed and talented in presenting the information. It is an extremely complex subject and requires extreme compassion and openness which she demonstrates every step of the way.

It provided useful tools for mapping couple vulnerability cycles, understanding the neurobiological factors that drive them, and helping partners regulate emotions while focusing on shared values. The trainer was very knowledgeable and presented the material in a clear and applicable way.

I think my experience did not disappoint. I have heard a lot about Ackerman from other counseling professionals and all of it made me very excited to experience it myself. To see how rigorous the process is in training with the Ackerman Institute was inspiring.

I’m just learning about the concept of non-monogous. This workshop was very helpful in gaining an understanding of this term and how to apply the infomation in a therapy room.

I wish more mental health providers could experience this training; it offers such an important lens for treating people as whole beings. Sexual health, intimacy, and trauma are often overlooked in healthcare, yet they’re central to healing and connection. Grateful to Abby and Nikkita for creating such a human, approachable, and trauma-informed space to explore how we can help people build more safety, self-awareness, and understanding of their trauma responses.

Randy was informative and clear in her teaching style. She kept my attention throughout even though it is a topic that is somewhat tangential to my work. What I most appreciated was her heartfelt optimism about how this work could create more peace in couples divorcing, could result in less stress and more resilience in the children and, essentially, make the world a better place!

The training on relational trauma, given by Fiona True, was exceptional. The use of video from sessions was interwoven into the training in a way that really portrayed the importance of giving space to each family member to honor their individual experiences while providing opportunities for empathy to be revealed under the overarching theme of repairing and strengthening relationships after a traumatic event.
