Train with Leaders Shaping the Field

Our Fall 2026 Seminar Courses are led by distinguished faculty whose work has defined and advanced the practice of relational, couples, and family therapy. Bringing decades of clinical experience, scholarship, and global influence, each instructor offers a depth of insight that extends beyond the classroom and into real-world practice.

The Self of the Therapist in Clinical Practice

Kenneth Hardy

Led by:

Dr. Kenneth V. Hardy

A Multicultural Relational Perspective

A nationally recognized leader in trauma-informed and racially focused clinical practice, Dr. Hardy, brings decades of experience helping clinicians deepen their awareness, presence, and impact in the therapeutic relationship. His work has been instrumental in shaping how therapists understand the role of identity, power, and lived experience in clinical settings.

In this course, participants will be challenged to examine the “self of the therapist” as a central tool in the work-developing greater clarity, intentionality, and relational depth when engaging with individuals, couples, and families across diverse contexts.

Cultivating Systemic Resilience

Reenee Singh

Led by:

Dr. Reenee Singh

Therapeutic Tools for Contemporary Couple & Family Relationships

An internationally recognized leader in systemic and intercultural practice, Dr. Singh brings extensive clinical, academic, and global experience to her work with couples and families. Her contributions have shaped contemporary approaches to resilience, culture, and relational dynamics in therapy.

In this course, participants will engage practical, systemic tools to support resilience, navigate differences, and respond thoughtfully to the complexities shaping modern relationships. Emphasis is placed on strengthening confidence and effectiveness when working across culture, context, and relational diversity.

Foundations in Family Therapy

Featured Course

Build a Relational Foundation for Working with Families in Today’s Complex World

Grounded in Ackerman’s signature relational approach, this course introduces the core principles of family therapy while engaging in the realities that shape how individuals and families experience the world.

Participants will explore how relationships are influenced by identity, culture, and broader social systems, gaining the perspective and tools needed to work more effectively across differences. This includes direct engagement with systemic inequities, including racism and other forms of oppression, and how these dynamics show up in both clinical and real-world settings.

More than an introduction, this course challenges participants to think critically, reflect deeply, and strengthen their ability to navigate complex relational dynamics with clarity, intention, and respect.

Designed for professionals across disciplines, Foundations in Family Therapy provides a strong, relevant starting point for anyone seeking to build or refine their work with individuals, couples, and families.
