Ackerman to Crowdfund for Social Work & Diversity Program on #GivingTuesday

Written by Ackerman Institute. Posted in News Blog

GivingTuesday 2019

On #GivingTuesday – December 3rd we will be crowdfunding for the Social Work & Diversity Program. Crowdfunding is a fun way for the entire Ackerman community to exercise our collective impact on a single day.

Earlier this fall our Social Work & Diversity Program received Ackerman Institute’s Legacy Honor. With a goal of training a critical mass of therapists of color, the Social Work & Diversity Program has created a paradigm shift with impact in the therapy room, in the classroom, and throughout the field of family therapy. We are grateful for our 27 year partnerships with the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, the NYU Silver School of Social Work, and the Columbia University School of Social Work. The Social Work & Diversity alumni include 148 members, working locally and nationally. Nine serve on the Ackerman Institute faculty.

Together, we will commit to expanding the theory and practice of family therapy training in ways that embrace cultural diversity and social justice and make the program possible.

Hear from some of our graduates in this video:

Look for our social media posts on #GivingTuesday – December 3rd and make your gift. Every contribution makes a difference – every single one.
